LuzLicht and EKS Dreier GmbH were engaged to plan and install the LED lighting for a new yacht built on the shipyard SUPERYACHT in Viareggio, Italy. The design for the yacht interior was delivered by NEWCRUISE - YACHT PROJECTS + DESIGN and realized by Gehr GmbH Yacht and Aircraft Interior. The task was to put objects such as domes in ceilings, suspended ceilings and mirrors discreetly but distinctively in scene. The wall panels were polished to high gloss and were not to reflect the light emission of the LEDs. No points should be visible. LuzLicht used PFR5-W-Y-12V strips with medium-range SMD LEDs to create an homogeneous light. They were mounted onto the aluminum profile Z08-01-04 and softened by the opal Makrolon cover Z08-03-17. Every single length was hand-made and soldered in the workshop of EKS Dreier.

A Lutron Control with 1-10V interface delivers the light scenes, which are realized at the actuator by the dimming module WCM-MonoDim-10A and the appropriate converters.

The task was delicate because the ship engine produces latent vibrations. All products had to be installed safely but reversible in the narrow ceilings. Additional care had to be taken that the installation functions without producing any noises. Each stage of the installation process was closely supervised to make sure that the highly sensitive wall panels were not damaged.
