The "Ambassador" is one of the most popular hotels of Berne, Switzerland. Situated at the edge of the woods it is nevertheless located in attainable distance to the city center. In the course of the complete renovation of the hotel in 2005 the 99 rooms were to be equipped with reading lights at the head side of the beds. The specifications of the hotel operator read as follows:

• double beds to be equipped with individually adjustable lamps on each side, so that the partner is not disturbed.

• luminous intensity 50lm
• color temperature 5,500K, similar to daylight
• power input per lamp 1.4W
• converters (transformers) with the measurements 100 x 40 x 30mm, which fit into the panel.
