LuzLicht was founded in October 2003 under the premise of developing electronic lamp ballasts for LED lamps. However, since one did not want to control individual LEDs, but such as were already grouped together for common bases, these had to be procured.

This sounded simpler than it really was. The procurement and the sales developed dynamically and seized the whole enterprise in due time. Control, development of electronic lamp ballasts and production of new lamps could not be touched again until autumn 2004, which lead to new products in the winter of 2004/2005.
